We roasted ours yesterday, all but 2 were bad and those 2 were borderline. I just googled how long you can store fresh chestnuts for (since the bag has no information about storage nor does it have a use by date) and it says they need to be refrigerated until used. They were not refrigerated in the store nor does the package mention to do so.

As an Italian I love roasted chestnuts before Christmas and I was glad to surprisingly find those chestnut bags at Trader Joe’s. Super easy to cook: just make an incision in the shell with a pointed knife and throw them in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. They were delicious. I really regret not having stocked enough of them as they disappeared from the shelves so quickly. I got 4 bags and they barely lasted half a week. Trader Joe’s, why do you carry them just for such a short period?
