    Well, I never ate an empanada before so I don’t know how these compare. But we liked them at our house very much! We’ll buy them again, for sure.

    As someone with celiac, a grain intolerance, and a nut allergy, cassava is my go-to! Unfortunately there are not a lot of cassava options out there without other flours added in that I cannot have. A friend bought these for me and I cannot wait to go to Trader Joe’s to buy more. To someone that is used to super flavorful prepackaged food these might not be amazing, but to someone like me that struggles to find things to eat they definitely get my approval!

    I just tried putting it in the air fryer. It was not bad, but I did not see much spinach or did I taste the onions. All in all, not terrible. Not sure I would purchase the product again. Though if I put some condiments with it, it may have helped.

    I naturally gravitate to anything with spinach and cheese. These were wonderful! I made them in the air fryer. I’m not gluten free, I didn’t even know what cassava until today. I will repurchase!

    Guess I am not a fan of cassava flour as it is grainy. If there were any caramelized onions I didn’t taste them. In fact they were tasteless. We oven cooked them 30 minutes they were not browned at all. We will pass on this Trader Joe’s item.

    Five stars for the crust of the empanada. Perfect and tasted great. The inside was bland.

    Crust was very thick and extremely greasy, filling had no flavor. will NOT buy again.

    I found the crust absolutely heavy oily disgusting. Sometimes trader joes just makes heavy unhealthy food with no regard for health. Tastes like lard and smells bad

    This really works…cant wait to purchase more and may try adding a warm fruit topping next time.

    I wrapped them in a wet paper towel, put on a microwave safe dish 3 minutes and flipped them over, repeat -Now I’m considering purchasing a toaster oven and some mango chutney ! It worked for breakfast, the dog begged to lick the plate ! Four stars
