    I was very excited to try them, and I cooked them as directed. The texture is like warm, stringy, artichoke pudding. They were, in my opinion, abysmal. I cannot believe I wasted $5 on these. Maybe this is how timbales should be. I have never had one before. I can’t imagine they are like this.

    These were like marinated artichokes in cheesy goodness with a crispy top. I hope they stay year round. I don’t get all the hate for them on here. This shit is so good I wanna dump it on my head and rub it all over my chest.

    A waste of money. Directions say to peel
    Off paper after cooked. Couldn’t find paper and was concerned about eating it…so threw the whole thing away! A real disappointment!

    Love these for breakfast or with a little salad for lunch. One of my new favorites!!! Also, please bring back the Pasadena salad, another one of my favorites especially during summer!!!

    If you like stuffed artichokes or artichoke dip you will like these. I love them. Mildly spiced so the taste of the artichokes and cheese really comes through. Can heat one at a time in the microwave and pair with a protein, I like it with eggs for breakfast or dinner.

    Just finished my first Artichoke Timbale and I loved it! Great artichoke flavor and the cheese was melt, gooey, goodness! I ate it with a serving of tootsie chicken and it was a great Keto meal! I did have to add salt.

    Disappointed. Lacking in flavor, consistency of library paste, no lemony artichoke taste, no obvious cheesy notes. Tried ’em because I’m gluten and soy intolerant and nearly all of the appetizer/side dishes at TJs have one or both. This was a rare miss for TJ.

    I always check the new items shelf but forget to check the freezer section for new items. Luckily, someone brought these to our book club last night and they received 100% thumbs up. I just had a leftover one I brought home for breakfast topped with red pepper eggplant sauce. I will be buying a couple boxes on my next visit.

    I thought they were very nice! I will definitely buy again . Sort of like artichoke frittata. I thought it was delicious and had nice bits of artichoke bottom. A couple of tiny bits of stringy pieces but nothing dealbreaking for me. I buttered it on the bottom to avoid sticking, and on the top to aid browning. Good paired with a side of cut up fruit of your choice. I had mine with pear drizzled with a bit of Italian dressing.

    In reading these reviews it seems the timbales are either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I’m squarely in the love camp. Made one in the microwave and found it quite tasty and full of artichoke flavor. Think it would be great alongside a fried egg and some sourdough toast for brunch. They are a bit heavy and artichokes can be fibrous, maybe that’s why some dislike??? My only thought is why the directions indicate to remove the plastic film when there isn’t any.

    These were divine! If you are a artichoke lover these are delicious they are artichoke hearts in a creamy cheese soufflé. I made them in the air fryer according to the directions a little squeeze of fresh lemon. I will buy these forever!!!

    I live artichokes and these timbales are full of artichokes. The texture is nice and while I can agree that some flavor could be added to these, like some salt or red pepper, these are easy to pair with your own sauces and seasonings. I hope these stay!! I can see myself using them in a creamy casserole. Yum!

    Amazing. Can’t find them at my local Trader Joe’s. When I do find them at other store’s I buy as many as they have. Those who don’t like this dish just aren’t used to the taste of artichoke hearts. So healthy; so good for you!

    Have to be honest…I’m on the fence! Not the worst, not the best. Would I buy it again? Not til I try it in a taco with chicken. Who knows, maybe then it will get 5 stars!

    The final product looks nothing like the photo. It’s very mushy, so I would not recommend eating this as-is. I’ve been eating them with pita crackers like you would artichoke dip. I’ll eat the ones I have, but it won’t be a repeat purchase.

    I’m starting to wonder if this product is made in two totally different ways. What cheesy goodness? What cheese at all? What I got was salty, bland, bitter, artichoke-flavored mush. I normally love TJ’s, and I love their artichoke dip, and I love artichoke in general on pizzas and calzones. In theory I SHOULD love these, and I don’t know how they made artichoke plus cheese so BAD.

    Price is way too high for what this is.
    Smelled fine, garlicky. Barely tasted like artichoke. Texture was horrible though: Mushy mix of “something” with bits of artichoke as hard as plastic. Had to take tiny bites to avoid choking on the hard bits, and to spit them out. Gave up eating after 1.5 timbales. Threw the last two away. Will definitely NOT buy again. $5 down the trash.

    I agree with some of the reviews – Pretty mushy, and yes stringy. Cheese flavors are definitely underwhelming. The best part was part of the top that got a bit crusty. Other than that, I won’t purchase these again.

    SO convenient and delicious!
    I had a group of unexpected guests today and I served some with baguette.

    I honestly do not understand the 5 star reviews. This was extremely mushy. I did not taste any cheese or texture of cheese. I just read that a timbale texture is like a crustless quiche. This tasted like the texture of baby food. So gross. I saw one person comment that others who did not like it because it is fibrous. That is not the case. THe flavor is awful, texture is very bad. This did not deliver.

    I had high hopes for these. They were mushy to begin with and they had little flavor so I added a bit of marinara sauce to try to help these out. I will not purchase these again

But very shortly , here came that sweet nutty flavor that artichokes have. Decided to make some Hollandaise sauce and wow – it was a terrific snack! I usually dip artichokes in lemon butter or mayonnaise so your dad couldn’t hurt to use the hollandaise sauce. I was right I hope they keep these at the store, in case they don’t, I am already on the hunt for a recipe to make it home. Yes, there are some pieces of string and leaves, just as you would expect to find if you purchased a can of artichoke hearts. If I make them at home, I will be even more finicky about what I put in there that but it is not a dealbreaker for me. I think these will be a Hidden with people who really do love artichokes, and quite possibly with people who are on the fence or undecided about what artichokes are good for

    Supremely Disappointing.
    My husband and I both love artichokes, so we were really looking forward to having these for lunch. He took the first bite, called it, Soylent Green, and immediately threw both of his in the garbage. I went ahead and ate mine despite their blandness and mushy texture which was relieved only by a very fibrous piece of leaf. I had some cut-up fresh cherry tomatoes, which helped. I have no idea how they made their way into production.

    Absolutely LOVE these!!.. I’ve been an artichoke freak since I was a kid, so these fit the bill perfectly. Full artichoke flavor, soufflé like with a hint of cheesy— best part is, not too high calorie & true artichoke flavor, without the work. Would give 10 stars if possible!

    Was expecting a mix of tender, tasty artichokes and lovely cheese, with a browned, crispy top. What we got was sour, pickled artichoke mush and diarrhea 4 hours later. No crispy top or noticeable cheese. Cooked in oven as directed. I ate about 4 bites and threw the rest out. Probably the most disappointing item in 20 years of TJs shopping.

    This came out well in my air fryer at 325 for 23 minutes. It had a golden crisp crust and well cooked innards. I ate the whole package without difficulty but regret that I also consumed nearly 100% of my recommended daily salt intake by doing so. Though it tasted a bit salty the salinity was hardly overwhelming. In fact the end product was still rather bland. There must be a better way to concoct this.

    Had too many fragments of the tough outer artichoke leaves. Totally ruined the texture for me. It was like swallowing wood splinters. Awful!

    I nuked it according to directions, but it was like trying to heat up wood chips. It ended out being much drier than I expected. Tasteless unchewable tough leaves that I ended out having to spit out. At first I thought that this package may have beed damaged by over-thawing in shipment. The first one I ate plain and I could believe TJ would put its name on this $5 product. The second one I tried adding. a dash of horseradish sauce, the third sriracha and finally balsamic vinegar. It was beyond help. I was almost thinking of giving it a second chance. But after reading similar reviews, NO WAY!
