My husband and I had our honeymoon in Jamaica and tried Jamaican patties for the first time and we were obsessed. These are JUST LIKE our patties we had in Jamaica, can’t say enough good things. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

They were absolutely awful. I lived in an area with many Jamaican bakeries and my partner is Jamaican– we both agreed that they weren’t spiced correctly, in terms of level or types of spices. If you’re looking for a frozen patty, go get some from Golden Krust or Carribean Food Delights. Or find your nearest Jamaican restaurant. Not these. Definitely not these.

These do not taste like proper Jamaican Patties whatsoever. The flavor is wrong, the look is wrong, the textures are wrong. Wrong for a Jamaican patty that is. Buuuuuut if you pretend that TJs is not trying to pass them off as Jamaican Patties, they’re not terrible. They are a mildly spiced meat hand pie in a light crust. They’re still more tasty than not so it’s possibly ok if you think of it as its own thing but you will definitely be disappointed if you love and have eaten lots of actual Jamaican patties. It’s just blasphemy to call these Jamaican Patties but try it if you like a beef turnover.

I’m Jamaican and I am here because I’ve never before had a patty this far off what I grew up on. The main problem is the beef, it’s sour. Next is the price. Sam’s Club has the best beef patties.

I can see the hate from those folks comparing to super high-quality or authentic Jamaican patties, but these are really good. Ignore the haters. I’m really enjoying them.

Of course it’s not like the ones made fresh in a Jamaican bakery but just like a very good frozen pizza, it’s not meant to be better than fresh pizza. It’s very good AND convenient. Also appreciate that there is no MSG added!! All of the other store bought patties I can find all have MSG in them.

A lot of pastry and not much filling. Having been to Jamaica and eating the real deal, I’d like to know what a Jamaican would rate them.

    very little filling
better for a snack than a meal

These patties are fantastic! I don’t eat beef and I haven’t had a real patty in forever but I saw these and instantly had a craving for it. Not disappointed at all! They baked perfectly in the air fryer and the spice level was just right. Definitely a filling treat and I would absolutely buy them again.

Not enough flavor or meat. Also very dry. Skip it

My father is Jamaican and I grew up eating patties my entire life. This misses the mark. I liked the pastry but the meat doesn’t have nearly enough flavor. It tasted like bland mush.

Im carribbean. These are Jamaican STYLE patties. Not Jamaican patties. They cannot, do not , will not compare to Jamaican patties either fresh-baked or frozen. That being said. I warm them in microwave than crisp them in airfryer/oven. Great patties STYLE when I dont have access to Jamaican patties. More for me if you dont buy cuz they are always low in store.
