Yum – comparable to other brands of frozen chicken taquitos. Crispy and good to dip in your sauce of choice. My only complaint is the packaging, which isn’t always the best at securing the taquitos from freezer burn.

These were one of my favorite TJ’s products but they’ve gone way downhill! They used to be made of shredded, good quality chicken but about six months ago the chicken was replaced with ground up chicken mush. Not good. They’re still ok if you slather them with salsa, etc.. but I hope they bring back the original formula soon. Please, they were awesome. Not sure if the beef taquitos have gone through a similar transition.

Had these a while back and they were really good.
Purchased a package recently and as the reviewer above, Rebecca describes them ” the chicken was replaced with ground up chicken mush. Not good. Way downhill!”

These were really terrible. I’ll never buy them again. What the??? The filling was some kind of mush. Just don’t buy these ever

These are the worst taquitos I have tried. There is no trace of chicken as we know it. The tortilla seems decent but what supposed to be chicken is just a paste that could easily be mashed potatoes or the kind of chicken paste McDonald’s uses for their chicken nuggets. I will never buy this product again not will recommend.

I trust the brand Trader Joes. When I am used to above average quality from them in food like the frozen mandarin chicken, I am willing to pick up random items to try out. But this mushy powdery chicken-like filling is so bad I had to leave a review on the web for gods sake. How can it be this bad? Spare yourself the money and the taste in your mouth. Avoid these taquitos like the plague, at least until they improve them. 10/27/19

Gross!!! Wish I saw the reviews before I bought these! They are nasty.

Way overpriced for the quality that you get. Pretty much flavorless. The “chicken mush” comment is right on the money. However I will give them 2 stars as a vehicle for conveying salsa and guacamole into your mouth. But on their own their not worth the price.

Agree with everyone else here. The old ones with shredded chicken were great. I just bought a pack for the first time in years and they are filled with this nasty, mealy, dry, under-seasoned ground chicken that is awful. 1/10 would never recommend, they’re literally worse than the cheapest ones from other grocery stores (and they weren’t that cheap)

Entirely tasteless. Avoid at all cost. I gave these to my friend with IBS who can’t handle strong spices, and even he didn’t want them.

Disgusting!!!! The white chicken mush is unbearable. Avoid at all costs! So disappointing as the frozen food at Tjs is usually good. They need to 86 this product asap!

These are actually so bad. I was excited for these but these are completely flavorless. From what I can tell it is made of unseasoned chicken “mush” as others described and a grainy dry tortilla. There’s no cheese, sauce, or seasoning anywhere as far as I can tell. So disappointing.

We had not found these for some time at Trader Joe’s in our area. We were so excited when we saw them recently, we bought a package and cooked some for dinner. I wasn’t sure what was oozing out of the taquitos, which turned out to be chicken mush, not chicken. I took a bite and spit it out as did my wife. It was disgusting! We were so disappointed at the quality and that Trader Joe’s would put their name on this product. We threw out the entire package.

Don’t forget that Trader Joe’s will gladly take returns for any product you don’t like. No hassle refund. Sounds like these Taquitos are bad.

I followed the microwave directions because I was feeling lazy. They came out smelling exactly like my cat’s food and it permeated throughout the whole house. I only ate 2, they tasted okay, but the next morning I had liquid chicken taquito coming out of me from all faucets. I still can’t get the taste or smell of these things out of my mouth. Proceed with caution

Loved this item. Cooked with refried beans on the bottom of dish and placed the taquitos on top and then topped with cheese and baked.

I was really looking forward to what kind of tacquito Trader Joe’s offered. but was greatly disappointed. I heated mine up in the air fryer to get that crunch, but that chicken was literal mush and it was so disgusting and off-putting. Would NOT recommend.

Gross gross gross! Filled with bland tasteless chicken paste. Yes paste. So bad that I had to come here and write a review. I never do that. Do not buy these unless chicken that has been through a blender and rolled up in a dry tortilla. An absolute abomination to what a chicken taquito should taste like.

I’m not sure what all of those people had but I love them! Great filling and flavor and with some shredded cheese and salsa they were delicious

Trader Joes can’t seem to find a consistent quality maker for these taquitos. At my local store they appear for a few months and then they disappear for a few months. I tried them last year and they were great, like something you would eat at a mexican restaurant. A while later I had them again and they were terrible, like something you buy out of a vending machine.

Honestly dude I think a lot of these other reviewers are smoking crack. I had these back in ’22 and they did their job. I didn’t find the texture that gross and it’s not like they tasted like wet sand either, they were fine. And you can just microwave them — they’re an easy, 2-minute snack, nothing more. Find me a taquito that’s ten times better and I might amend my score, but otherwise I think people need to lower their expectations. Compare these to the pupusas which are way overhyped on TJR: you can’t microwave those, and I’ve had pupusas that are 1000x better. Bit of a scam there. But I feel like I got exactly what I expected from these taquitos.
