This kale would challenge a goat’s digestive tract and they can eat blackberry bushes. Sauteed for 5 minutes, in soup and simmered for more than 30 minutes. And I should mention – bitter.

I have to agree with the above reviewer — this kale is some of the most bitter, and least tasty that I’ve ever tried. It’s also really harsh to eat texture-wise as well. It’s nice that it’s organic, but when it’s this inedible, I’ll still have to pass.
TJ’s other kale options are better than this one, so I’ll stick to those going forward.

What a pain.
I like a little bit of bitter; I’m good with kale.
But this stuff is terrible to work with. When they chop it up to bag it, all those stems get chopped into different thicknesses and lengths, some of them very unlikely to cook to the chewable stage as the leaves turn to mush.
Just sell me kale in a bunch of whole leaves so I can strip the leaves, chop the stems and start them cooking for 20-25 minutes before I throw the leaves in.

If I could give this a ZERO star review I would! At least 1/3 of the product is inedible , I weighed what remained and only 6 ounces from a 10 ounce bag was not stems or 1/4 inch pieces with teeny tiny bits of leaves attached. I agree with Anonymous’ comment that it seems the leaves are stripped from the stems and only the stems are sold!!

Well I hate to disagree with everyone, but I love this product! I add it to my soup/stew at the very end, and just cook it for 15 minutes. It’s great! My stew has hot Italian sausage, mung beans, onion, carrot. I do cut it slightly out of the bag, to make the pieces smaller but that only takes a few minutes.

Love it. I cook entire bag in pot on stove with about a cup of water with a lid. Let it come to a boil on medium, then turn it down to low and let it simmer about 25 minutes (the longer you cook it the more tender it gets). I put a little olive oil and apple cider vinegar in too along with some sea salt.

Funny, I’ve been wondering about this Tuscan kale brand. It does stink. I’ve eaten it without incident so far, but I just to be sure going forward that there ain’t something “rotten in Dodge”. My wife refuses to eat it, prompted averse by its funk.
