Individual taste is funny thing. I admit that I was skeptical of a $4.99 DIPA but I was sold on the first ice cold sip. Definitely not complex or fruity or citrusy favors here. Not for snooty ass IPA connoisseurs. Just the right mix or extra hops, malt & ABV. Recommend drinking ice cold… awesome!!

It doesn’t taste like a double IPA. More like a slightly over hopped amber. Also it was $5.99. At 8.4% ABV you’re getting a cheap buzz.

Will buy again and again. One of the better craft beers I’ve had lately. And the price brings it home.

not what most would expect from DIPA (which I do not allow in my house). more of an Imperial IPA or hoppier Heller bock. whoever compared this to an imperial stout was correct in that some imperial stouts are balanced and not deeply colored. I could not call it a double ipa since it seems to have no relation to the current rage for dominant floral hops or unpleasant bitterness, which I would not call beer. this a very well-balanced strong ale with a wide range of hop and malt nose and tongue notes that evolve as the beer warms and releases various esters, phenolics, etc that can only come from an ale. drink this beer starting from ice-cold and make it last to room temp for a multidimensional experience. leave a very small amount in the glass and continue to sniff. those who rate it low must be unfamiliar with anything beyond overwhelming modern hop bombs. if you want mango, grapefruit, pine resin, citrus, etc, go elsewhere to the many so-called “craft” ipas or fruit juices. I buy this frequently at Trader Joe’s-the price is incredible compared to many of the beers available-and it is a great adjunct to my normal diet of expensive malty ales.

I thought it was very good. Not a lot of citrus. Ii would definitely buy again.
After reading some of the reviews it seems some think that because it has a low price it can’t be good. I have to disagree.

Cheapest way to get wasted!! 4.99 for a six pack, by the time you finish that baby, you won’t have a care in the world!!
