I had high hopes for this, because I’m a huge fan of the vanilla almond butter overnight oats that Trader Joe’s sells. And this one is higher calorie (and it’s not like it’s sugar free), so I wasn’t thinking it was some super healthy or tasteless version in comparison. However, I would never buy this again! I couldn’t even finish one spoonful, I was so grossed out.

It had a best by date of 2/1/2021, which is the morning I ate it – was it a bad batch or something? I don’t know, but I’m too scared to try this again after how nasty it was! I can even stomach sugar-free plain yogurt, but something about this one was really sour and inedible to me.

On the other hand, the vanilla version is absolutely delicious and addictive. I’ll be sticking with that one going forward!

Honestly awful tasted sour and inedible and the expiration date was 1 month out.

They have a serious quality control problem. Trader Joe’s or its vendors are selling items that have not been kept in the right temperature. These oats have clearly been fermented. They taste like vinegar and have carbonated texture to them. This has been going on for months now and still no fix. What a shame. I liked these oats.

I didn’t taste anything sour in these overnight oats like other reviewers. I thought the taste was OK, and it was filling, but the texture was icky. I usually buy steel cut oats and microwave them, so this was my first experience with overnight oats … and maybe the soft, kind of slimy, texture is normal for overnight oats, but I will not buy this one again. (I’ll try making my own overnight oats as a test before giving up on them completely.)

These tasted like they were fermenting, sour, and/or going bad. Even though the expiration date is still a month out. Gross. Why is TJ’s quality decreasing so rapidly :(.

Actually disgusting. Tasted sour. Like my tongue was actually tingling. The other flavor of overnight oats they have is MILES better though I’ve only had it once. This was terrible. Negative stars if possible. Never have reviewed food lol this was that bad

These are bad. I had a bite and it seemed “OFF” but had some more. Then I stopped and searched reviews for these Trader Joe’s overnight oats, almond butter flavor. And YES they taste fermented, like vinegar or sour. I have made my own overnight oats and these are just an odd, thick mess that taste fermented or like weird vinegar. NO almond taste. Just really really bad. I hate to leave a bad review but please avoid.

Sour tasting . Didn’t taste this bad the last time I had them. Yuck. Also one month out to expiration. Awful.

Just spit out my first bite. It tasted sour and almost fizzy. Disappointed 🙁

I wonder if something changed. Not all of the ones I had in the past were this way- but YES I thought I was the only one. It almost tasted as if it were baking powder mixed in. Wow!

Yeah, these are literally fizzy. It tastes like kombucha mixed with pudding or something? Major bummer

Was so excited about the clean ingredients but it tasted very sour and felt like it was fizzing on my tongue. So disappointed.

Just tried the TJ peanut butter overnight oats this morning. it was ok, until I got about 10 bites in then it got very sour and gross – something went bad. Threw it away. never again.
