I have mixed feelings about this mochi. The outside and creamy texture of the ice cream inside were great, and I loved the mocha center. But the coffee flavor was too intense for me in this case. I drink coffee daily and I normally love coffee-flavored things, but this was a little too “bitter” for me.

I was really happy to find mochi that was non-dairy, and I’m normally okay with coffee flavored desserts… but I have to agree that the coffee flavor was too intense for my taste.

I cannot understand how anyone could not love these! And others claiming the coffee flavor is too intense must have never drank decent real coffee in their lives! Because it is not even strong. I would say just right if you actually love coffee. If you want ordinary run of the mill coffee ice cream, you might not. But these are wonderful!

I’m absolutely obsessed with these guys. It was sad to hear about my local Trader Joe’s no longer carrying the mango flavored mochi, but I thought I’d give the new coffee ones a try and they did not disappoint! I was skeptical about the ice cream being made from coconut milk, but the texture was as creamy as milk ice cream and had no taste of coconut! That probably has to do with the strong coffee and mocha flavor. I grew up on vietnamese coffee though, and this is just right up my alley. Great mochi covering, creamy coffee ice cream, and rich mocha sauce. My only issue with it may be that the coffee can sometimes taste a bit powdery(?). I hope that TJ’s will keep this in stock since I can’t indulge in their other mochi ice creams with dairy in it.

Love, love, love the coffee flavor. And I especially like the fact that this flavor is non-dairy. The coconut ice cream is just as rich and creamy as regular ice cream. I’d love to see some summer NON-DAIRY flavors – maybe strawberry, mixed berries or orange-vanilla? I also like that this desert is LOW SODIUM. Thanks, TJ’s!

Absolutely love these and love that they are dairy free. The coffe flavor is perfect and the center is so good.

I’m astonished at these positive reviews. I’m lactose intolerant and also a Trader Joe’s fan. Always looking for a non-dairy dessert. But this tastes like guar gum (OK, I don’t really know what guar gum tastes like) wrapped around chilled and diluted guar gum approximating ‘ice cream’. Yuck.
The coffee/mocha flavor was good but the texture was revolting.
Why does no one sell Lactaid Ice Cream, which is really delicious. I cannot find it in New York City.
